Fourth Grade

Fourth grade at FPA builds on prior knowledge while challenging students through active engagement. History covers the modern age, including Queen Victoria’s England, World War I, and World War II.

Students refine handwriting with “A Reason for Handwriting”, focusing on alignment, shape, slant, and neatness. The curriculum also includes Latin, emphasizing English derivatives, prayers, and benedictions.

Mrs. Glenda Peek

Mrs. Glenda Peek has a BA in Elementary Education from Saint Martin’s University. Her education experience includes nearly 20 years in public and private schools, as well as four years homeschooling. Mrs. Peek and her family have been involved in foster care for more than 10 years, and she has dedicated numerous hours as a child advocate, Sunday school teacher, Youth ministry leader, and volunteer spokesperson for several foreign mission endeavors.

Mrs. Peek and her husband (Lynn) were high school sweethearts and were married 40 years in September 2021. They have four adult daughters, as well as two young sons (currently attending FPA). She also has five grandchildren. Mrs. Peek loves cheering on her family members in their various interests, including baseball, soccer, cornhole, basketball, karate, and sprint car racing. She also enjoys cooking (especially on the grill or Traeger), baking pies, and working alongside her husband on home improvement projects on the 119-year-old home that has been in her family since the 1930s. She is a lifelong learner who is currently learning to play the guitar. She loves studying God’s Word or curling up with a good book.

Mrs. Peek is honored to be a part of educating the leaders of tomorrow through FreedomProject Academy and looks forward to building relationships with her students and their families.

Mrs. Cathy Missildine

Mrs. Cathy Missildine graduated from Faulkner University (a Christian University in Montgomery, AL) in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. That year she received the Elementary Education Award for most outstanding Elementary Education student. In March of 2014, she received her master’s degree in Reading and Literacy from Capella University. She has over 20 years of teaching experience in both public and private schools and has been teaching for FPA since 2013. She taught First Grade for two years before moving to her current Fourth Grade position. She also serves as the Fourth Grade lead teacher, tutor for the Fourth Grade level, and teaches Basic Grammar during the summer.

Mrs. Missildine has been married to her husband Randy since 1995. They have four children, the oldest (a son) graduated FPA in 2024 and will be beginning college in the fall of 2025. Their three daughters are currently enrolled in FPA. Mrs. Missildine enjoys the beautiful white sand beaches and emerald green waters of northwest Florida where she and her family reside. She is an active children’s Bible class teacher at the Airport Road Church of Christ where her husband is the senior minister. She also enjoys music and singing, having been a member of the a cappella chorus in college. Her perfect day would be one where the sun is shining, the temperature is 72º, and a nice strong breeze is blowing through the open windows of her home.
