FPA’s first grade curriculum has an emphasis on the fundamentals of reading, writing, and arithmetic. We believe in the importance of a strong phonics-based program.
Students learn listening, writing, and reading skills that will enable them to better understand the English language. Reading brings them to new adventures as they go through rich, literature-based stories. They are challenged with comprehension exercises as well as enrichment activities that develop creative thinking.Â
Mrs. Jeter earned a bachelor of arts in elementary education from Concordia College, St. Paul, in 1997. She has previous experience teaching in public and private schools, as well as the homeschool setting. She resides in Wisconsin with her five children and her husband, whom she married in 2000. When she has free time, Mrs. Jeter likes to read, exercise, and garden. She wants her students to know the love of Jesus Christ and to develop their talents and use them for His glory.
