Classes I Teach:
2nd Grade TA

Mrs. Melissa Hyder

Mrs. Melissa Hyder earned a bachelor of arts in early childhood education and elementary education in 2005 from Western Oregon University. She spent a few years teaching in the public school system, and has been in tutoring and distance learning teacher roles within the homeschool community, before joining FreedomProject Academy in 2020. Her heart is all in supporting other homeschool families, and it has been her joy to be able to homeschool her own boys in some capacity since 2012.

Mrs. Hyder has been married to her best friend since 2003 and is the mother of four boys, one of whom has special needs. She loves spending time with her family, being outdoors and cheering on all her young athletes. Since the age of 14, Mrs. Hyder has volunteered in some capacity, mostly within children's or youth ministry, at her home church. She has a love for encouraging others, and a heart to train up children to see the world through a biblical lens, recognizing their own gifts and talents and how those fit into God's plan for their lives.
